I'm glad that celebrities have a hearts and want to help. But don't they realize that there are orphans in the U.S.? Don't they realize there are homeless people in the U.S.? People in the U.S. get AIDS? Poverty and hunger exist in the U.S. too.

I'm not saying that what's going on in other countries isn't terrible and no one should help. I'm glad that they do get help. But for once I'd like to see celebrities rally behind the country that gives them so much. Stamp out the problems here at home before taking on the world so to speak.

Am I making any sense?

I just want to point out that just because you only hear about the adoptions overseas doesn't mean that celebrities don't adopt here. There are hundreds of celebrities that adopt US children. Do the research and you'll find out.

Meanwhile, you saw how celebrities donated millions of dollars for 9/11, Hurricane Katrina, and other natural disasters. Not to mention the fact that they donate to charities all the time.

So they ARE helping the poverty-stricken and hungry U.S. citizens... that's just not what makes the headlines every day.

it makes no difference- here or there, people are people. If you're looking for a a local celebrity, Bon Jovi is helping people in his state get affordable housing through the help of Habitat for Humanity. Oprah has scholarships she provides for Americans who want to go to college and excel in high school- so does Bill Gates and his foundation. There is a lot of charity by americans for americans but it does not for sensational news!

No. You do make sense, and while I disagree with you, I understand your opinion.

I think they should do whatever they wish with their own money. If they do anything charitable at all it's great; but it's not a requirement.

Liberals like the fame they get from helping in Africa. There is no fame to be won helping a lowly American citizen (in their eyes.)
