They seem to be hypocrites. They say they want to help the poor, but all they want to do is keep the poor dependent on the Democratic party, thus buying votes. Reps believe in helping those who are truly in need, and giving others the opportunity to better themselves and thus bettering the country.
This is why most poor people, illegal immigrants and fringe groups make up the majority of the support of the Dem party.

While both parties have their weak spots, Dems get their support of the very wealthy. Reps are accused of acting to benefit only the very wealthy.
So there ya go.
Liberals, historically, are never responsible for anything that is, or becomes, unpopular, regardless of original votes or statements. The fickle public guides the liberal vocal agenda. Their actual agenda is to take power using any method regardless of the harm, physically and otherwise, to Americans, America or anyone around the world.
I do agree with others and admit that I really don't care what Iraq or any other country does or how they live or what they want or don't want. I care about America and Americans. That is why I support the war and finishing what we started. To back down is putting Americans in harms way.

Why do conservatives try and pretend that the Iraq conflict is about the Iraqi people? How many Iraqi people have now been killed as a result of this? Around 30,000? Personally I'll be blunt. I care a lot more about people in my own country. As you are seeing now, the Iraqi people are a majority radical Shiite culture. I don't have a lot of sympathy with, or interest in helping, radical shiites.
Were you among those trying to explain how our involvement in Vietnam was to support the Vietnamese people? They don't want us in Iraq either...haven't you noticed that yet? Understand...if I thought it was to the betterment of our nation to remain, I wouldn't care what the Iraqi people thought.

for me, it was a visit that a friend of mine recently took to new orleans.
there are parts of new orleans that look like they were hit by a hurricane yesterday.
there is a cold anger in many americans these days (me included) with regards to what our politicians think is important.
i think that restoring a great american city to former status is more important than putting 25 million iraqis on american welfare.
we're not going to get payback for 9/11 in iraq and the vast majority of the people there don't want us there.
maybe now is the time for that debate on priorities at long last - or perhaps we should wait until after the 2008 or maybe 2012 presidential election - lest we cause some embarassment to some career politician - who makes his living standing on the dead in order to look taller.
so sorry, first things first - america first - then the rest of the world...

Wow, you guys really need to quit posting the "Why do liberals?" questions, because they make you look like ignorant, bigoted jerks. First of all, Iraqis would not be getting killed right now if we had not invaded their country without probable cause. Also, nobody has advocated pulling the troops out. I support Rep. Sen. Warner's plan to move American troops to the borders and to Anbar Province and to allow the Iraqi's to fight the civil war in Baghdad themselves. American troops have no place in a civil war in another country.

They hate actually everyone who would not accept as true with them a hundred% of the time. The liberals in this u . s . a . are the somewhat some maximum closed-minded human beings no longer purely in this u . s . a ., yet around the globe.

The liberals hate to see Iraqis die, along with our own brave soldiers. Bush has spent $360,614,086,943 to date on this unnecessary war of aggression that has resulted in the death of more Iraqis, poor and otherwise, than it's prior dictator.

The US is not giving the Iraqis any help.
We are rebuilding the things we destroyed. That's nothing to brag about.
And there would be no civil war if we hadn't invaded a sovreign nation for no reason.
