Where are you getting those number from????

Last I knew the Extreme Intel Core 2 Extreme Processors only came in two speeds:

QX6700 2ML2 Cache 2.66GHz 1066FSB $1100
X6800 4ML2 Cache 2.93GHz 1066FSB $1010

Fastest regular Intel Core 2 Duo Processor:

E6700 4ML2 Cache 2.66GHz 1066FSB $525

I don't believe there is anything out there in the speeds you are mentioning. At least not 7 GHz. I haven't heard of a 4.2 GHz yet either.

Post the web site they are available on if you have one.

Hope this helps.

The dual core 7ghz is probably faster and maybe a bit more expensive. However, the core 2 duo is definitely more power efficient and maybe runs cooler. They are both pretty good but I would wait a little bit or perhaps get the E6600.
