i bought a bunch of kodachrome 40 film and they said on the box to process before NOV 2005. now its jan 2007 and i want to use them. they are always stored in my drawer at normal temperature, will the time delay cause any changes to the film when i process it?

The 'process before' date should be used more as a guideline than a rule. It would have been better perhaps if you had frozen the film instead of storing at room temp but it should still be okay. Try using some of the film on something not so important first to test the results. Have a look at the sites below for some more info on the subject.
