It is unusual for a rabbit to groom a person. Possibly he
thinks you are his posession. He may not bite you now but if he becomes more possesive, he may start biting when you try to get away or put him back in his pen. If I were you, I would be very careful and watch him closely when you are holding him.
I have been raising rabbits for many years and have too many
to hold them a lot. Some like to be held and some try to get away. They have their own personalities just like different people do. I have a few that try to bite when I get their water dish to fill it. By the way, I am a grandma too.

Sounds like he is just licking you in a friendly manner. The sweat on your skin is salty and rabbits like the taste of salt. So they will lick your skin. If it is the actual hair on your head, which would be wierd, it may be partly due to the kind of product that you put in your hair.
Just be careful if you let your rabbit lick you a lot. If you stick your hand under their mouth too long they may mistake it for food and bite you.

Yes, it's normal. He's saying he likes you :) My bunny does this when I pet her. It's like she's saying thanks for grooming me, I'll groom you now. She also likes to put my fingers in her mouth and not bite down. I can't figure out what that means though.

My rabbit has always done this to me, i think its his way of saying I love you, either that or its saying you havent washed properly and look I can do a better job!!!!!
If yours starts biting hard say no loudly to him and he will learn that being gentle is ok but not too hard!!

Your rabbit is telling you that he accepts you as part of his family! I have seen this in cats, horses and dogs, they indulge in mutual grooming as part of the group. Taking a firm grasp of hair is part of this process.

Yeah, after all dogs lick and cats snuggle into you, same thing. If its a rampant rabbit, its not normal at all!
