first unplug it , then release the top using putty or butter knife to release the clips on the sides of the front. prop the top up . if it`s a gas dryer remove the lower front loosen the screws on the bottom of the front, inside the front at the top there are two screws holding the front on remove these and carefully pull the front out pivoting on the lower screws, be careful not to pull off the wires to the door switch with out making a note as to how they will need to go back on. with front off you can remove the old belt, also look at how the belt goes around the tensioner as you will need to put the new belt the same way around the tensioner.to reassemble it follow the steps in reverse. good luck

Listen to Russel L. That is exactly how to do it. You might also want the maintance kit which has a new belt, idler pulley, and rollers. Both the belt and maintance kits come with instrcutions too.

IT'S A BIT INVOLVED , BUT IF I CAN DO IT YOU CAN TOO! ( NOT MECHANIC LY INCLINED )
IF IT'S PRETTY OLD, & YOU GOT THE MONEY, REPLACE THE MOTOR TOO! FOR SURE BUY ALL THE ROLLERS THAT THE DRUM RIDES ON & REPLACE THOSE! THE BELT SLIP OVER THE PULLEY ON MOTOR & AROUND THE DRUM ( THEY ARE VERY SIMPLE ONCE YOU OPEN THEM UP! ). I JUST BOUGHT A NEW WHIRLPOOL DRYER, I HAD MY OLD ONE JUST A BIT LONGER THAN MY WIFE ( 23 YEARS )! THE DRYER ONLY QUIT ON ME TWICE IN 23 YEARS!.... I'LL STOP THERE!
