I would definetly recomend a laptop. For one thing, the table computer may seem less expenseive, but once you buy everything you need for it (speakers, keyboard, screen, mouse etc.) the price will add up to the same amount a good laptop costs, and the laptop already comes with everything you need. A laptop is a lot smaller too, and it's portable, so you can take it on vacation and move it around your house. It's so much nicer. I would definetly recomend getting a laptop..

You usually get more features with a desktop when comparing machines of the same price, but a laptop allows you to take your computer when you travel, which is why our last two computer purchases have been laptops (one for my wife and the other for my daughter).
A desktop, however, is easier to upgrade, especially if you need a high end graphics card for game playing or a bigger disk drive for multimedia editing.

Okay - you get about twice as much for your money if you buy a desktop. Also you don`t get such a poor posture ie hours crouched over a laptop means stiff neck etc. If you don`t need to move around that much get a desktop. I do some on site work and take my desktop to site about once a week no problem admittedly in a car boot.

Laptop definately. I could never go back to a table computer after having a laptop. Especially good if you get it on wireless, then you can even use it in bed!

Laptop is so much easier as your not confined to a small room out of the way etc. I'm sitting in bed at the moment using mine! I use my laptop more than I ever used my old computer.

Laptop has more mobility yet less reliability:
- It can be stolen when outside of your home
- It can not take damage very easily(depends on the model)
- Dependency on battery power when going mobile and have to keep up with your AC adapter
- Use it anywhere
- No time wasted on configuring or installing a laptop
- At risk to coffee spills
Desktop has more reliability yet less mobility:
- Difficult to move
- Easier to upgrade
- You have to install components
- Not at risk to coffee spills
- Less likely to break since you do not have to move it as often

if youre in college you should definetely go for a laptop, you can take it to class and take nots or download files to help uunderstand the lectures, if youre into gaming you will be better off with a desktop, but if you just want an entertainment computer a laptop will do just fine if uw ant mobility, if u want more room you should get a desktop

If your going to get a Notebook get a Macbook Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0GHz, because it truly is a protable super computer, running Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger is 64-bit and it runs fast, but as soon as Lepord 1.5 comes out the computer will increase speed by 24x, by useing total processing power from both processors. They also come with built in web cams and a wireless a,b,g, and n card built right in. check it out at www.apple.com/store

Desktop computer! a lot easier to fix then a laptop. To fix a laptop can get expensive and trying to find someone to do it is also quite difficult

well i have a Sony vaio laptop (notebook) which i've had for about 4 yrs, and it's great to be flexible. it now generally stays out on my desk as i use it everyday for work, but every now and again i need my dad to add a new program or sort a problem and it's good to be able to take it over there instead of waiting for him to get time off work to come over here to see to it.
i can't see why a good laptop can't do everything that a standard PC can, plus if your use for it changes over time then you can pack it away, or take it with you.
