My boyfriend has been a smoker for more than 12 yrs and is trying and wants to quit He tried the patch and it helped him somewhat but he is smoking again. Should he try using the patch again or should I suggest the commit lozenge to him? How well do they work?

I have heard that the patch isn't the best thing to use. Because of elevated blood pressure. The Commit lozenges is fairly new. So try it. Just remember your boyfriend has to want to quit. If he can get past a couple of weeks he will feel a tons better. I quit cold turkey. Bought a ton of extra peppermint gum, stopped drinking alcohol, stopped drinking coffee and ate small low carb meals through out the day to keep my blood sugar stable. Drink a lot of water, helps flush your system. He will really have to commit and quit. He may be an azzhole for these two weeks, so don't let it get to you. Good luck..........

That really all depends on if he has an oral fixation or not.... if he cant seem to keep things out of his mouth(smoking, chewing on pen caps, etc.) then i would suggest the lozenge, or a gum. If not than try the patches again but make sure hes not smoking and wearing the patch at the same time... it makes things worse.

Remember to bear with him, nicotine sticks to certain receptors in your brain and creates feel good urges, so when the nicotine starts to wear off then hes gonna be grumpy and just want to start up again...but if you can make it past that untill all the nicotine is gone from that part of his brain, which is different dependant upon each person and how long they've been smoking, then you should be clear sailing after a little while.

The only way to quit smoking is just doing it... patches, all that don't work... yeah it will be difficult, but it is possible. You need to find something to get your mouth distracted with (im serious) bite something, chew some gum, carrots, something... I used to smoke, not a lot but i did... and one day i quit just like that... Now I'm a triathlete.

It is best to quit naturally or chew gum or tobacco.
Eating or sucking on a lime is suppose to help u quit fast.
the gums and patches are not worth a crap;
If he wants to continue to smoke , he needs 2000 mg. of
vitamin C per pack of cigarettes.
smoking drains C from body, put it back in
drinkin drains B vitamins
