Rock n' roll is way better than rap. Personally I prefer the rock scene when I was growing up. Today's rock scene is mostly noise. Every band or group that I've scene is pretty much a carbon copy of each other.

They both have their good points. Currently, both Mainstream rap AND mainstream rock are suffering monotonous camps. I think underground rap has more to offer honestly. Rock is getting used and abused way too much by people who just want to be a "rock star" and not a musician. Rock has also been invaded WAY too much by comercial forces. All the bands that are considered rock these days are just pop bands in "Rawk" clothes and hairstyles. I would love someone to show me that I'm wrong on this one and point me in the direction of some great, indie bands that aren't generic copycats of everything thats already going around. If we were voting on originality, content, and musicality, underground rap would have to win in my book.

I like that 'Old time rock nd roll'. Rap is ok, some of it grows on me coz my kids have it on all the time. Rock and roll will live on forever though.

Rock n Roll, of course. There's no comparison. Rap isn't music, it's noise. (my opinion but to each, his own) Give me Bob Seger, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Pink Floyd anyday!! Although, I've done a lot of typing in "Emmylou Harris and Dolly Parton" at Limewire too.

I love rock Nroll, but my son likes the rap so he listens to his music and when we are in the vehicle we take turns. I usually work it out that on the longer rides it's my turn for my music!
