when light is diffused does it lose energy in the process?

If light hits a mirror it spreads into various directions. In that process does the light lose its strength or intensity or does it retain its intensity in all the directions it spreads.

If you could somehow capture all the light after it's diffused its flux (strength) would be unchanged assuming there is no absorption in the mirror.
