I like it, but since it is unusual for a name, I would use it as a middle name or pick a less different middle name. That way, if your child decides they don't like it, they can have another name to use instead, without having to go throught he courts to change it.

Another thing about it is I can't tell if it would be a boys name or a girls name. It lends itself to either gender, so you'll have a lot of people who have to ask. I would make the other name either very feminine or very masculine so there's no confusion. Like Jacob Storm or Storm Elizabeth, just for an example.

There was a point when yes, I did like this name. In fact, in a perfect world, I might still like it, because in a perfect world, a kid couldn't get teased for it.

Nowadays, though, that's a superhero, and a tragedy, and a temperment that a child doesn't need when the terrible two's last until you can kick them out.

If you want something unique, go back in time a little, rather than going for weather words. It's much more difficult to tease a Dante, an Elaine, or a Jess than it is to tease a Storm.

I know two people named Storm - one person gave himself the name later in life and one is a teacher's son. I think that it is a nice name, but I would recommend having it be the kid's middle name, and have a very normal first name, so that he has some options.

My friend's dog name is storm. I don't like it for a child. A super hero but not a baby.

I think names are very important. They help establish the first impression of a person. When you think of the name Storm, you think of someone in turmoil and chaos, dark and brooding. Do you want that to be your child's label?

When I think of Storm I think of an angry occurrance.
I wouldn't want to think that my child was stuck with anything associated with anger or bad karma.

It's different, but I think it's right up there with naming your son Anakin. I had a friend whose name was Storm, but if i heard that name today, all i would think of is X-Men.
