1998 dodge neon. I dont know what is wrong but it started about 2 months ago. I would hear a squeking noise on the passenger side after driving the car for about 2 - 3 minutes. I would spray brake cleaner spray on it and it would be gone but then comes back after a while. This problem went on for a while but stopped all of a sudden for about 5 days and then came back. However, it wasn't on the right wheel anymore, it went to the left wheel. Again i would apply the spray to get it to go away but it would still come back.

Now recently another problem popped out. When i apply the brakes i now hear a loud grinding noise. It is very annoying and scary for that matter, I'm afraid the brakes would fail one of these days and really don't know what to do. Help.

It sounds like your brake pads are worn down to your rotars. You need to have it checked asap because that can get expensive if you keep driving it that way.

The squeaking noise was the wear indicator on the brakes warning you it was time to change out the pads. Since you ignored it, the grinding noise is telling you your rotors are now history because you didn't change out the pads and the metal to metal contact has ruined them. You are looking at a (now) expensive brake job.

If your brakes are grinding you need pads and rotors IMMEDIATELY! Do not drive the car except to go to a reliable brake shop.

You coated the "squealer" that was telling you the brake pads were about gone! Now you've"shucked a puck" and are chewing up the left rotor! Time for new pads and at least one rotor! Sorry:-(=

Have the brake pads replaced ASAP and hope you don't need new rotors.

It sounds like it could be something really serious like maybe your taillights or the radio antenna could need repair. You should take it to one of your relatives who is a mechanic... relatives usually don't make you pay them to fix your car.
