I realize that corruption exists both ways, but i was wondering if you think there is a difference in the amount based on gender? More males commit crimes in general than females...perhaps a woman would be less likely to be corruptable? What do you think?

True except you used the word "Politician". Then all bets are off. A politician will be just as corrupt no matter what gender.

Corruption in politics is based on power, prestige, influence, and opportunity.

The more that politician has of each, the more likely s/he will be tempted to make corrupt decisions. So, NO. Neither gender is more corruptible than the other. There are just fewer women in politics so there is usually less opportunity for corruption.

Not as much, but the problem I have seen with women politicians more than men is that they tend to be political idealists instead of realists, which men politicians tend to be more, and I think this prevents women politicians from being corrupted as easily as men politicians, but as a result, women politicians tend to get less done for less people than men politicians (yes even Hillary), which may explain why there are much less women in politics (especially American) than men.

Personally I think race, political beliefs, and personal life experiences are more reliable predictors of political corruption than gender.

Gender cannot be a measure on who is most corrupt or not.

But we can use it to measure how may politicians are male and female.

As most government have male politicians, it will make you think men are so corrupt.

To be a politician you need money, and the salary of a politician is not that much. Where will you get the extra cash?

If you are a politician you will call it FUND RAISING, and if you are a tax payer its CORRUPTION.

Good question. I think even men like to think that women are somehow a little more "moral".
But recent stats have shown girls and women participating in criminal behavior at an increasing rate. Even the commission of violent crimes on their part is higher.
Maybe it's just society that's corruptible.

No, just as likely. If anything more likely because no matter how much money a woman makes or power she gains she will only marry a man who makes more then her. Making her the 2nd in a relationship, making her more corruptible.
Example: The Clintons, John Kerry's wife had the money but he ran for president. Katie Holmes, Victoria Becham. The congress has more women then ever and has never been more corrupt.

They are equally corruptible I think. You say more males commit crimes and while that may be true more males are also the providers for their families where there are both parents. This may have something to do with the stats. More males are also in the positions to commit crimes (such as CEO, CFO, Business owners) so statistics may be somewhat skewed.

My personal opinion: Is that female politicians can be just as corrupt as the male ones. The female ones are just more sneaky about it.

Hell yes! Women are ten times more manipulative, sneaky and generally corrupt than a man could ever be! As a male dominated world most don't see it or pay attention because we're too busy trying to get in her pants!
