Lately my life seems somewhat disorganized and hectic. I realize I keep a busy schedule but I'm finding myself, lately, trying to focus and remember little things or things that are so important to me that I shouldn't forget. I was just curious how many people find themselves struggling to focus and ask you what you do to try and maintain a balance in your life?

We all go through that especially when we are under stress. Sometimes the emotional part of our mind is going through so much that it overpowers the other areas of our minds. Do some yoga and meditation. If I have problems, need answers, I come here...On Yahoo Answers.

I forget something every day. Seriously. Every day. I've resigned myself to that fact, so now I try to focus on the important things that I have to remember.

Here are things I forget to leave home with or things I forget to do:

1. My lunch
2. Important papers
3. Paying bills in the mail (I gave up-everything is taken out of my checking account now).
4. Birthdays-I remember 1-3 days before, but then I forget to call.
5. Holiday/birthday cards-I just can't remember to go to the post office.
6. Setting my alarm-luckily I still get up
7. Sometimes I forget to eat......really!

You get the picture!

I have a lot of trouble trying to focus and stay on task. A daily planner helped me map out my time and made sure I allowed enough time for each activity. Making lists and writing down important things helps me to remember (even things that are so important that you don't think you'll forget).

I usually carry a small notebook in my purse to make notes for myself so I don't forget. Anytime anyone asks me to do something I write it down or I do forget.

Those hand held PDA's or Palm Pilot's are really nice. I use one of those now. It's got my calendar, memos to myself, task lists, address book, word processing and spreadsheets. (not to mention a game, too)

Be comforted you are not the only one who has this problem. Some of us just have it worse than others.

I struggle to focus every day. (Which is why I am on Yahoo Answers instead of doing the work I should be doing right now.)
One thing that helps me is making lists. It helps to organize myself. I also put everything on my Yahoo calender with it set to text me or email me to remind me of what I need to do.
If this has been a problem for quite some time you may have ADD in which case medication could help alot.

yep...every now n then i find myself lost..and the best way to get back on track is to think of a situation that you remember...focus on it's details...it helps to regain the focus. i always think of memories (time spent with friends) to get back on track and it works fine for me...
