What can I do about it? I am a independant girl, i file my own taxes and live in a different state than my parents. This is our 5 year anniversary celebration we are going to see a ballet and going to stay at this hotel. How can we change there polcies? They said we couldnt but there must be somthing we can do !! PLease give me any sneaky ideas you have! We didnt tell them we had already made a reservation.

call the hotel change the reservation to someone elses name (that is 21) and have them check in for you.

Different hotels have different policies, but in the U.S. most won't ask for identification if you pay with a credit card. (A major exception is the Motel 6 chain, which ALWAYS asks for ID.) Have your boyfriend check in. Present your reservation print-out and credit card, and be pleasant and confident through the whole process. If for some reason they should ask for ID, your boyfriend lost or misplaced his license. As a rule cheaper motels are more likely to ask for ID than more expensive ones, and those in college towns or other areas likely to be frequented by underage people are more likely to request ID than those in suburban or rural areas. Also, if you pay with cash you'll almost certainly be asked for ID.

Well, the easiest way is to just not say anything about your age. When I stayed in a hotel by myself at 19 they never checked to see how old I was.

Cancel your reservation and make another reservation at a different hotel.

Unless you told them who were when you called to ask, I would just go ahead with your plans. It is doubtful that they will check your date of birth when you register. All they'll want is a driver's license (to prove you are who you say you are) and your credit card.

They won't check your drivers license when you check in. You've already made your reservations. Just go and don't even mention your age when you check in.
