I just read an article were Matthew Knowles (Beyonce's Father) said his daugther lost because Hollywood is racist. While there are still many barriers to overcome for minority actors in Hollywood, I think B lost rightfully. I mean, she is very talented, but she just has not been bit by the acting bug, I mean she plays and does the same thing in every movie she's been in! Goldmember- Singer with gun, Carmen-singer in red dress, Fighting Temptations- Singer with a choir, Pink Panther-singer in Europe! Hello! Awards are for those who explore and step out of the safety zone!

Absolutely not. Everyone in that movie deserved to be there but her. I really believe she was cast because she's the "IT Girl" in R&B right now and face it her agent's goood! Plus this proves my personal opinion that there's alot of talented, good looking black women out there besides her...thank God somebody discovered Jennifer Hudson. There are alot more talented black women out there besides her that have alot to offer the entertainment field.
As for racism, it'll never die but I'll never be convinced that its factored that heavily in Beyonce's career. She's marketable to "white Hollywood" because she fits their mold that lighter is better and long hair(even weaved)is the ideal. Hopefully Ms. Hudson's win will change some of those misconceptions.

Jennifer Hudson won. How is that racist? Beyonce did not 'lose' anything. She just was not the better actress, and that's how it goes. Beyond that, her attitude toward Jennifer Hudson has been very rude. She put her down for being full figured, and for having no Grammy awards. I don't like that at all. Jennifer will reach her goals, and she can act as well as sing. Beyonce is having her time right now, so I think she should be satisfied with her success, and try to be a little more humble. She has nothing to complain about, and her father is a fool. He should go cry in one of those big bags of money that he's sitting on. That is just ungrateful. If Hollywood is so racist, why doesn't he move away from it and return all that 'racist' money Hollywood has given him?

No way should she have won, or even been nominated, honestly. The movie was good, but not because of her. She was strictly the eye-candy. And, seriously, if Hollywood is so racist, then why did both Eddie Murphy and Jennifer Hudson win? And, let's not forget, the movie won, too. No, Daddy Knowles, Beyonce is just not that great of an actress. Don't turn this into a racial thing. It's not.

I honestly don't feel she should've won the Golden Globe and I don't feel she lost because Hollywood is racist because if that was the case Halle Berry, Denzel Washington, Samuel L. Jackson, and so on, would not be the big stars they are. I feel the better actor/actress won. Like you said, Beyonce right now needs to stick to her singing career because her acting career is not really acting, it's mostly singing in the movies and only real actors/actresses that do more than sing in a movie win the awards. I mean I'm sorry, I like Beyonce's music and all, but she can't be the greatest at everything.

Honestly, Beyonce did not perform all that well in Dreamgirls. Matthew Knowles is just upset that Jennifer Hudson has received all of the attention for her vocals as well as her acting skills and she is the supporting actress. Not to mention how she out sang Beyonce in every song. Which is also the reason why when they were on Oprah, Matthew only wanted Beyonce to sing and not Jennifer.

i could no longer agree greater, and from the appearance of the photos I observed the day purely before this she appeared kinda pist. truthfully she did no longer deserve one, she particularly did no longer do something stunning interior the movie. I think that is absolutely ridiculous. Beyonce did not lose due to racial issues. I love Beyonce to death, but she is more of a singer then an actress, thats not to say she CAN'T act...she can otherwise directors wouldn't cast her, but she was going against big time actresses, such as MERYL STREEP now come on....Also, umm if I'm not mistaken Jennifer Hudson is of african american descent, and correct me if I'm wrong but did she not win for best supporting actress...YES! Because not only is she a great actress and singer but her overall performance in this movie was unbelievable.

But.. Jennifer Hudson won the Golden Globe for best supporting actress for Dream Girls and she deserved it. Actually I thought she deserved it for best actress cause I thought the movie was focused more around her then Beyonce.
I agree though Beyonce didn't really deserve the golden globe, she was pretty much playing herself.

Absolutely.....Not! She didn't do as good a job as Jennifer Hudson bearing in mind that this was her first acting role. She did really well. Beyonce and her family can't have it their way all the time.

Sounds to me like you already have the answer. You're right. She doesn't step outside of her personal safe zone when acting. She's nice to look at but has yet to prove herself as an actress.
I really can't stand when something doesn't go your way, you claim its because of racism. Usually those who are quick to claim this, are the ones who really have racist feelings themselves and justify it by trying to throw it back on others. Her father should just shut up right now before he does some serious damage to her career.
