Yes it is! One of my best friend sthat I have now is an ex of sorts. We never really dated, we were always jsut good friend swith benefits. And he is someone that I consider to be my closest friend. And out of all of my friends he always puts my best interests first. My husband, of course, does not know that we were, at one time, intimate, but we haven't been in ages so it's easier to leave it alone.
I do, however, have some ex's that I wouldn't pee on if they were on fire. It all depends on how strong your friendship was prior to the sexual part.
And i will say that I think it takes time away from each ther for a while before you can be close friends. It doesn't happen the second you split up, it takes time!

Possible? Yes. Likely? No. The reason is in most cases one is usually still interested in pursuing a relationship. This also explains why it is that Guys and Girls also have a hard time being "just friends." Many people balk and say, "I've got lots of friends of the opposite sex." True, but do they feel the same way about you? One person always wishes it could be more. You say you're merely friends while they clutch their pillow at night, wishing it could be you.

Almost all of my best friends are my ex's. The physical attraction is gone but that's no reason why the emotional connection has to be. It takes a very clear head and mature attitude to do it but it is possible.
