Fifteen Things That Make Me Smile When I Remember Your English Class
1. The smiley explanation marks you’d put on our papers when we did well – I never could quite do those.
2. How you would explain the English work in plain English- Of Mice and Men and Romeo and Juliet are a little bit confusing at first.
3. How you always greeted us with a “Hi!” or “Hello!” and a smile when we came into class.
4. The way you never once yelled at us- Really I can not remember one single occasion.
5. How you always understood and would change the due dates- Even though sometimes we would try and push the limit.
6. The time when you tried to teach a few of us how to say your first name... the Serbian version.
7. When you told us the bed bug story- well actually you scared me, but I know you had good intentions.
8. How you were never once were in a bad mood – you never were grumpy or impatient, or even negative for that matter.

9. How you could always tell when something was wrong, and then you’d ask if everything was ok- That’s two steps farther then any of my other teachers have ever done.
10. The conversations we had before class started- You actually cared about what I said.
11. How you tirelessly helped us with our essays, and went over how to write essays about a million times- this was especially helpful because as you said, “You NEED to know how to write essays if you want to go to university.”
12. The way you would capitalize or repeat important things in our notes- I don’t think I will ever forget the essay rules “DO NOT RETELL THE STORY!!!”, and to always “Edit, Edit, Edit, Edit!!!”
13. How you would come sit down and talk to us if we were done doing sheet work or supposed to be working on a project
14. That one time when you told us you were more impressed by our work then your Gr. 12’s.

15. How you always encouraged and believed in me- no matter how much I said I didn’t believe I could do the work.
Ms. *********-
Always remember you are a great teacher, and more importantly, a great person, don’t let anyone ever let you think that you’re not.
