Preferrably in Texas... how about Baylor?

Baylor is respectable. Find schools that have good rates of matriculation, like Rice and UT-Austin.

Basically, you can attend almost any 4-year college and qualify for medical school. Just make sure they are ACCREDITED and not a "for-profit" college like U of Phoenix or various diploma mills on the internet. I have not heard of anyone who has done college online successfully getting into med school.

But yeah, state schools and private schools should be fine. Big names only help slightly, and only mostly beucase they tend to offer more help to pre-meds, hence the higher matriculation rates.

Consider this, though. Med schools can put a person into 6-figure debt. You might wanna save your $$$ and go to UT or Texas A&M so you won't have to put your first born child up for collateral just to pay off your student loans.
