That's not true. When you find the thing that is truly meant for you, the thing that you really want, and you go after that one thing, both the pursuit and when you get it, will seem like joy in and of themselves, unending. The trick is, you must know what you truly want, not the quick fix cheapshots, but the true deep inner meaning to what you aspire to.

Oh that is such a great big eternal question!
Happiness and peace ,
comes from a close knit, family unit ,
Kindness , unselfishness ,
and a thoughtful outlook,
Being generous to others
allow ourselves, to like each other ,
no matter what t indevidual diferences
wealth alone, will not bring, true happiness or contentment .
Greed, springs into the equation
as does, dissatisfaction with your own lot
envy of what others have
fear of being ignored ,by our peers
To always ,be ahead of and above others ,
Status ,means, far too much these days .
All this is the downfall of individuals
and also of Nations
I wish i knew the solution . ,
maybe we should look to closer family units .
And definitely,
greater understanding, of peoples problems

Because mankind is inherently stupid. Man believes that he is the greatest of all creatures simply because he has the ability to think logically. This, however, is mankind's greatest drawback. The ability to reason is only a positive factor if the result of that logic is "right", which is another one of man's idiocies. Right and wrong are not set values. Rather, they are what society says they are at that particular time and place. Thus, what is thought to be right in New York's lower class might be considered a travesty in Georgia's upper class; what Sunni Arabs in Tajikistan believe to be right could be the polar opposite in tribal Congo. These differing beliefs clash with each other, often violently. Therefore, as long as mankind is divided by class, location, religion, and what their logic and socioeconomic environment say is right or wrong, there will never be peace in the world.

I think you have to look hard at your question. Is it more pointed towards your feelings? After all life is just a perception of the senses. Without them it means nothing.
I think it is an individual's perception of the world and their experiences as to whether they are happy and have achieved what they believe they want to achieve.
After all on'es perceptions of what we desire and when we have reached the zenith of our ideas will change as the neural networks in the brain fire on a slightly different path.
Mankind will never be at peace. Never has and never will be.
It may one day be controlled by one person thus ending all wars but this will still not be peaceful.

People try to find happiness as if happiness is available in a super market. If people understand the difference between needs and wants then they will be less inclined to go after the wrong choices that take away their time and energy uselessly. People should develop kinda philosophical approach toward life and try to be less and less materialistic. Peace and happiness comes from within and we don't need to go anywhere for them. Contentment brings happiness and greed brings unhappiness. It's that simple.

Happiness is a choice not a place. You choose to be happy in-spite of circumstances. It's found in a living relationship with a living Creator not in pursuits outside of Him. Peace is the result of a right relationship with God while happiness is the mindset that relationship produces.

Its a matter of "the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence..." Even those who claim that they are happy, are at peace with themselves, still continue to seek "more"...whether it is more money, more time to do what they please, more friends, more whatever. I don't know anyone...and I mean personally KNOW anyone who is truly happy with their life. I have relatives who would tell you they are...but they still sit and gossip and compare what they have with what another has. That doesn't sound to me as though they are happy...does it to you? I have friends that claim that their lives are blessed, and they couldn't be happier..yet these same friends are looking for "better" jobs because they aren't being paid what they deserve...or they want less hours for the same pay..or...that sound happy?
Man is a "rational animal....at least thats what many philosophers call humans. Animals are always seeking for something...food, shelter, procreation...if man is an animal, rational too, then doesn't it follow that we, too, continue to search our entire lives...and we rationalize it too?
Your question is real brain food...thanks!

Any search for happiness outside or through our sense organs are just excitements or pleasures.
Pleasures are short-lived. Once the pleasure is gone, mind searches for another one and another one and so on..
It craves, but never gets satisfied.
Peace comes by understanding the reality or tuning in to the nature. Peace is within, but we seek out. This is wisdom.

You see, there is this religion called islam and some radicals within the religion want to kill people and take over countries and put them under this islamic sharia law which is very strict and prevents you from have any freedom. They also hate modern technology and want to take the world back 500 years so we can all live like bedouins in the desert. The rest of the world is trying to fight off this islamic madness, so there is war. Prior to that, wars were fought all because of the same sick reasons, some group wanting to control another group. The islamofacists really have figured out that the majority of the world does not want their lifestyle so they will bomb and blow up innocent people until we give in to them. Here's a hint, we will never give in so I guess the war will continue.

For as long as man has always wanted more power, there has never been peace. It's something we all want or at least most want, but it's just one of those things, no one knows how to get, because no one can really recall a time in history, when all were at peace.
