Oh yes! I grew up in South Carolina - and every fall it would be oyster season. (You can only eat them in the months that have an "R" in their name). We'd get them in crates - all muddy - and clean them up. Put them in a roasting pan - and have an oyster roast. Serve them with some coleslaw and hushpuppies - and dip them in melted butter or cocktail sauce. Heaven!

And TOTALLY worth having to shuck them!!

Yea, and the best is when you open one and find a sand crab. You can let them run around on your tongue before you eat them. Its fun!
