i wanted to cry

Truthfully - I can't say because I haven't seen you display any talent thus far. Therefore just now I'd have to say no.
I think you do have tremendous untapped raw egotism, if that helps.

I'm the same except my 'tremendous untapped talent' is in the field of music, unfortunately I cant play any musical instrument at all but when I was a kid at school my parents bought me a comb and a few sheets of toilet paper for Xmas one year (we could afford it then) and I was pretty good at playing that, I've always harboured thoughts of becoming an orchestral conductor cant be much to that, just stand there and flap arms about in the air!
Good luck in your poet thing, I'm sure we are all missing a good poet in the world today, it could be just what we need to solve the worlds problems???

I cant tell without an example of a poem you have written, but if you enjoy it keep it up, even if you write for pleasure. I am sure there are family and friends out there that would love a poem personal to them and written by someone that cares about them.

every one has but unfortunately very few of us ever find ourselves in a situation that would allow us to recognise it or display it in a way that might change our lives .
you it seems have recognised your talent , now you must decide if that's enough or should you seek the illusive situation that would allow you to display and profit from it ?

You might have raw talent, but.... you need to marinate it, and then cook it so it's palatable.
