I know of someone who just got out on probation and he would like to work and earn his keep. Do you know of a company or organization that will hire parolee to work and live at their faculty? Before he was convicted for drugs procession he worked in the construction industry as a builder.

Is there a website that offer jobs for people who have a prior record in California?

Make up your mind, is he on parole or probation (totally different). It will be much harder for him if he is on parole vs. probation. Either was, his parole/probation officer should be able to point him in the right direction. Have him look into the unemployment program for the county that he works in. Also, most CA cities have programs like Labor Ready where he can work on a day to day basis (and they don't usually look at background much, mostly ability). If worst comes to worst, have him go down to the local carwash. Many of them only hire people with a criminal background to give them a second chance at getting positive work history.

Good luck to him, but if he does drugs again, do all of us a favor and just shoot him so that his drugs don't get in the hands of my kids!

Try the oilfields.....most of their workers have records and they don't seem to care - by BIL, for example. you do have to pass a drug screen and be pretty physically strong to do the work.

I hear they pay pretty well, but it is somewhat dangerous work, but I know the oilfields in Wyoming are desparate for help...the provide you a place to live. I don't know how to get a hold of them, I know the state has a 'job service' website that you could probably google.

It all starts with his parole officer. He or She will steer him toward suitable employment.
