Just go through de-tox. Suffer it for a day or two going cold-turkey and by the third day you'll see the craving is lower. In one or two weeks the craving will be completely gone.

WHY QUIT SOMETHING YOU LOVE?? If you really enjoy your time playing world of warcraft...don't quit altogether. Start sticking to the 2 hour limit. Don't let your grades drop in school over a game but at the same time don't stop doing something that you have a great time doing. When I first bought World of Warcraft I play CONSTANTLY too for a few months...then I gradually played less and less...sometimes I get in the mood to play all day..other times I don't play for a week or more. You'll reach that point eventually. Make sure you have a life outside of the game. Go do things with your friends sometimes...don't totally give up your social life--------

---you'll end up being a 200 lbs, pale, pimply nerd with no friends and 3 inch thick bifocals because you sit there in the dark squinting your eyes at your computer screen eating HoHo's and playing all day and night. lol just kidding.. ive been playing nearly a year and I've actually lost weight.

two suggestions, depending on how you play and your own will power. If you dont' have the will needed to master yourself, you'll need to quit cold turkey and stop using the computer at all or you'll be tempted to playing.

If you do have will power, you can try using it as a reward for yourself, for example "If I study for 3 hours, I can play for 2 hours" or make a deal with your parents, "every A I get I can play all day for a saturday", that sort of thing. Depending on how you play, you can also try playing in windowed mode, so you can switch back and forth from writing a paper and killing a monster, etc.

In terms of making friends, try talking to folks at your school, odds are some of them play wow as well, so you can make friends talking about wow. The card game might be another way to get out and about, it's still a wow fix of sorts, but probably not as addictive as the video game version.

My suggestion is that if you don't wanna go outside and do physical activities or go out with friends then just get another game maybe for whatever console you have or just your computer and then rotate playing times. For example, you can play 1 hour the new game and 1 hour WoW or you can play 2 hours one day of the new game and the next 2 hours of WoW. This way you are not entirely focused in one game and your more balanced out. Instead of being obsesed with WoW you will take that spare energy and spread it out evenly on the new game.

I have found that for me I often play a new game quite a bit at first but the luster wears off quickly. For others it can continue to be a real draw for them. The unfortunate thing about WoW is that it takes so long in order to group, raid, etc and as you advance in levels the time sink is actually GREATER as it takes more time to organize massive groups and outings.

If you find yourself ditching other duties to play the game, then perhaps you are better off getting rid of it now instead of later. Uninstall it and break the disks.

well first step is done. u admitted ur addicted.
second step- change that- go play a sport, join an after school club or take up a hobby like playing an instrument
third step- if that doesnt work, join a video game addiction clinic (IM SERIOUS) they are out there. search for one.
fourth step- psychiatrist. one thing they do is show u ur motives. then ull no why its addicting.

if its addicting because its JUST fun, ull get over it. but if its because of making friends, the gain of power/ respect or the completion of tasks, get help!

i doubt ur addicted if uve ony been playing for a wk. but by the end of nx wk, u will be. if u think u will be, stop playing. just like cancel ur account and uninstall the game

Well obviously if you can't control your addiction you should not have it. Because really can anything stop you from fullfilling your cravings when no one is around. No I don't really think so not unless Train a German Shepherd to attack you every time your not so suppose to be playing. My best advice is get rid of it and find another game like say Battlefield 2 and don't get so obssesed when you can't play it. That's like what my 2 year old nephew does when he can't have something. It's really embarassing and annoying.

You must realize that WoW is pointless. That is the only way to stop playing it. Once you realize that you will stop playing it. Also it helps to be able to replace the time that you spend playing WoW with a different activity that is fun for you. Such as maybe hangin out with you friends or playing a diff game that doesnt require so much time and can be turnt off anytime.

It all depends on your will and purpose of life. One decides one's purpose of life.
If you don't want totally leave it, you need to arrange your time accordingly with appropiate ratio compared to another activity in your life in a day, but if you still cannot overcome the temptation i suggest you better broke the cd, crush your modem, or even dispose your computer.
