There are people who take medication and their depression worsens. I believe that people have the self-ability to become better. The mind is a powerfull thin. It's the powerhouse of our entire system.

Depends on the degree of nonfunctionality. If a person just can't overcome the depression enough to get along from day to day, they should medicate. However the real goal should be working on the inside condition, facing the underlying problem and solving it with consciousness. Medication that leads to further avoidance of facing the problem is ultimately worse than the problem.
In my opinion doctors overprescribe, and people are not encouraged to meditate, talk out their troubles or address mental blockage with creativity. Doctors know that most people are fairly passive these days, and would rather sit and watch a tv show than turn their attention to the more important state of their own being.

Depression is not just a mood. It can have fatal results. I would suggest professional help. "Chemicals" for depression can literally be lifesavers. The Chemicals are not play things, they are legitimate prescriptions that do alter your brain chemicals but then depression is an alteration in your brain chemicals. Why would you not want to treat something that can be treated. It will help to improve most areas of your life, relationships, work, SEX,.

i don't think so. it changes, but then it change back. what i mean is, since you're talking about depression, if u use chemicals, you'd just forget your problem, eventhough the problem's not solved yet, and after that you'll remember it again.the best thing to do is to solve it. talk to someone about it. if you're talking about alcohol or cigarettes, then it goes the same. alcohol damages your brain. doesn't matter if you get drunk or not. i think i saw it on discovery channel. cigarette damages your whole body, especially, i think, your lungs. so no chemicals kay

Well, you've clearly never suffered from depression. You wouldn't ask this question if you knew the pain.
