Yup. Have a 68 classic fairlane and transmission fluid caught flame after a 10 minute drive on the highway. Very flammable indeed.

Yes it is very flammable when heated. It has to reach nearly 400 degrees, which is very possible while driving if it is both very hot outside and you are pulling a heavy load or long hills. It will ignite when exposed to flame much like cooking oils on your stove.

MIG welders use electricity to weld.... the point of weld will be very hot.... transmission fluid is nothing but oil and oil isnt that flamable, but mig welding will ignite a flame to the fluid. Take the pan off and lay it on a bench and weld it that way.
