It's silly, but I would have to say that a wind-up musical doll from my childhood cheers me the most when I am profoundly sad.
I received her for my first Christmas after my family became (temporarily) homeless (I was five). She was an anonymous gift from a stranger and she is a clown with a pretty, ceramic face and ceramic limbs, with hearts all over her dress and hat. She plays "Send in the Clowns".
I'm nearly thirty now and she is nearly threadbare after years of child's play (I treated her like a regular baby doll, carrying her everywhere), storage, three cross-country moves, a house fire in which very few "items" survived and two basement floods..
..she is still "with me" and I probably crank her up about once or twice a year. No matter how awful I feel before I play her music, I feel renewed and hopeful afterward. She transports me to a place in my innocence, whereupon I wonder about the kindness of a stranger, and how that's all I had to hold onto when there was nothing else.

it always depend on the problem im facing...but chattin with strangers always helps( u need a change frm ur hectic or monotonous life..n strangers serve the purpose)...dancing...music n playin with my sweet lil puppies is an all time stress buster...
besides..when im feeling extremely low...i would rather jot my anguish on a piece of paper n then tear it off (lol..i dont trust my siblings anymore)..watching a comedy movie...there are alot of options...but there are times when u want to think over, rather brood...
i guess these are enough to cheer me up
