Are my sons rights the same as the other students?
My son goes to pre-school in an elementary school, takes the bus,if he gets into trouble he has to go to the principles office, just like any student in K-12 grade. They say he's to hyper and don't want him to come there, they want me to find somewhere else to take him.I know it's against the law, if he was in kindegarden, but he's only in pre-school.

I say dont listen to Big Jimi... thats just ridiculous. Kids are hyper. I am not sure what the laws are, but I agree that they have to work with him if he is diagnosed with hyperactivity or ADD or something, maybe have him checked. It doesnt matter if you spank him or not... there are other ways than just spanking... and if he does happen to have hyperactivity or ADD that wont do anything about it. Good Luck!

All little kids are full of energy but not all are hyper. Clearly your child's actions are over the top or you would not be asked to remove him.

You don't want to hear this, but...you need to take accountability as a parent for your son's behavior. He can be taught obedience and respect. If he is out of control now, what will he be when he's in middle school? Or later? Better intervene now while he is still pliable. Make an effort to see their side, find out exactly what needs to change, and work on those goals with your son at home.

If your child is a behavior problem then they can expel him. If he is diagnosed as having a disability then they cannot.
How about stop looking for ways to get little Johnny off the hook and trying to find an appropriate program to offer him guidance on proper behavior? If it's bad at pre-school it will be bad in K, and 1, and 2,.......etc etc.

You have an opportunity now as a parent to step in and intervene to set your child on the right path......for 4 years he has been yours to teach, don't put the responsibility for the things he has not learned (discipline, manners, following direction, etc.) off on people who just got him a few months ago!

If you had spanked his little azz at 2 and 3,he would not be out of control at 4 and 5,and in trouble with the police at 12 and 13 !! There you go !!

Its pre-school don't they realize most all kids are hyper at that age. Tell them that you contacted a lawyer about it and being hyper is no reason to kick a child out of pre-school.

If you child's behavior is inappropriate for their program, they can dismiss or expel him. If, however, he is actually DIAGNOSED with something like a hyperactivity disability, then the law is on your side and they have to find a way to educate him.

A bad kid, they don't have to help. A disabled one, they do (although it doesn't HAVE to be in their building).

you should teach your kid to simmer down. trach him manners. and if that doesnt work than send him to jones hill. i know he is on in pre-k but when he is a child, their brains soak information like a sponge.
