Israeli president to be charged with rape By Jeffrey Heller

JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Prosecutors intend to charge President Moshe Katsav with rape and other crimes against female employees, the Justice Ministry said on Tuesday, in what would be an unprecedented indictment against an Israeli head of state.

Katsav has denied wrongdoing. The scandal is unlikely to have a direct impact on Prime Minister Ehud Olmert -- who has himself been hurt politically by a string of investigations into suspected corruption, which he has denied.

Well, obviously since this has been in the news for a LONG time... the investigations must have turned up sufficient evidence to bring charges and an indictment.

Sadly, here in America, we let a President slide on adultery, perjury, and swept HIS sexual assault and rape charges under the carpet (Juanita Broaddrick).

just because he is the president of a jewish country does not mean rape cannot be left unaccounted for.
He raped a women so he should go to jail for a long time, its as simple as that. Power currupts people and thats exactly what happened here.

Well, perhaps he did rape someone. Being President of a nation doesn't put one above the law, unless your name is George W. Bush.

The israeli regimes got too comfy raping the neighbors, American wealth, and the world with impunity. Now they are going after their own!

hey, i am a yerushalmit too.
he is a lying freak...what he ever even does for the country remains a mystery to me...i think the only ever created the post of the president because they wanted to make the guy feel important, for something he did.
he is a normal guy, so he should be charged with rape like any guy would be charged with rape. having the word 'president' next to his name doesnt count him out as a person incapable of sitting in jail.

Don't know the case well but what does this woman have to lose? Usually if it's for revenge or bribery they chose to remain anonymous, as she is putting her name forward she is likely out for celebrity. Perhaps they still name women accusers in Israel as a matter of course, but even if he can prove he never even met her it will hurt him and she'll score out of it.

Apparently, someone has charged him with rape. Mybe he is one of those executives that just can't keep it in his pants, or maybe it is a smear campaign.
