I am asian and always felt awkward and unable to relate to other asians around me. When I got to college I made several Filipina (primarily) friends. Through them and their families, I fell in love with the people, culture and FOOD. My friends have huge families that are filled with lots of love and celebration; so many weddings and kids (and oh such cute cute kids too). Finally I met asians that were Americanized and so at home with their own. I would love to visit the Philippines someday too. I have been dying to get some good palabok--it has been years :(

although I have never been, I think filipinos are by far one of the most intelligent and industrious races of people. They have strength and a good outlook on life despite the hardships that are given them. Where else can you go to a country and just about evry youth has a college degree? Also, filipinos have a strong nuclear and secondary family. True love within the family bond, something that is lacking in society today. LAST but not least, they have the greatest sense of humor, they are hilarious.

Come to the Philippines and find out yourself. Ang Pilipino ay mapagmahal, matiyaga, masipag, magalang, matipid, malumay, masayahin, matalino, mapag-kumbaba, martir, maganda, makabayan atbp.

the only news stories that ever come out of Philippines are riots, murder, Muslim violent, and natural disaster. I guess the people must be really unlucky.
