I like books like Patricia Cornwell's, and crime fiction. I also really like mysteries about serial killers (not to sound morbid, or anything)
Any recommendations of series or authors would be great. Thanks.

I think I go for the gory books because it takes a lot to shock me, but I love to be shocked.

a woman after my own heart! I love crime novels, especially Patricia Cornwell! I love Ann Rule true crime books as well. Harlem Coben is great and Kay Hooper. I just read Body Double by Tess Gerritson and that was really good. maybe we are morbid but they are fascinating novels. John Douglas, retired FBI agent writes some novels-check them out too!

Janet Evanovich writes a series with the girl called Stephanie Plum and they are hilarious crime solving novels. So if you ever need a light read to get away from the serious stuff, check her out

Josephine Tey's A DAUGHTER OF TIME is solving a historical mystery. #6 of the list of 100 Best Mysteries of All Time. Bodies are 400 years old, but very interesting.

SEARCH FOR THE SUN by Ellen Anthony. 2001 Eppie Award for Best Mystery and a few other honorable mentions. One reviewer said she was afraid to leave her computer to even go to the bathroom for fear her computer would crash and she'd never get to read the end.

Camille Bacon-Smith has a few mystery-horror-thrillers you might be interested in. She's not a very well-known author, but I love her stuff. It's a supernatural kind of creepy. Eye of the Daemon & Eye of the Empress, I think, are their names. Good luck!
