First let me respond to Lance in post #2
"I doubt it. I thing christian music is just bad. It sounds very dated and cheeesy. I dont even have to hear the words and i know its christian. Just bad, over-wrought and scary."
That comment is very dated and cheesy. I agree, 15 years ago, christian music was, for the most part, stuck in a rut of songs you would want to hear in church, but not really on the radio. Today, you have many great artists that are more talented then their secular counterparts. Lets be honest, they need to be talented in order to make it when they are singing about Jesus rather than sex, drugs, and rock'n'roll.
Take P.O.D. for example, their hit Alive back in 2001 was huge on the mainstream radio. Why? People like lance didn't realize what the song was truly about.
Anyways, I'm done preaching so here's my list of great christian music artists, topped off by Third Day and The David Crowder Band. The rest are great too:
Jeremy Camp, Nicole Nordeman, Matt Redman, Casting Crowns, Mercy Me, Barlow Girl, Tree 63, Michael W. Smith, Matthew West, Bethany Dillon, TobyMac, Joy Williams, Chris Rice, Newsboys, Sonicflood and Todd Agnew.
