What do three old ladies know (rosie, barbara, and joy) know about how kids feel i doubt they remeber their child-hood compared to elizabeth. I totally agree with her that having an affair would affect the children totally. What do you all think?

I thought Elizabeth came off as a little naive.....She annoys me with her self righteous ways. She just cannot see that the relationship between a husband and wife IS seperate from the children and it should be. I feel sorry for her husband.

And of course I'm not condoning cheating, but children do not have to know EVERYTHING in the way she was putting it. Like when they asked if daddy cheated on their taxes, should they be told, and she said yes! I was like are you kidding me? I agree with I think it was Joy who said relationships are not so black and white.

first of all they the old ladies didn't say it wouldn't affect the children. the discussion was about can a man who has an affair still be a good parent. and Ro, Joy, and BW, said in their"view" that a man or a women could still be a good parent to their child or children if he or she cheats on the other spouse. and I agree. what goes on between the parents in their relationship as long as its not violence should stay between the couple. having a wife or a husband is different then having a daugther or son. I also don't believe in staying in a bad relationship for the kids sake and I don't believe that parents should say negative things about the other parent to the children . its only my "view"

Of course an affair will affect the children. There's no question about that. How can it not? They're people too. Children are amazing. They absorb so much and sometimes we as adults forget that.

TOTALLY!!! Children are a LOT more perceptive than adults give them credit for. They may not understand all the nuances and drama of an affair, but they certainly get the basic concepts of one parent deceiving and betraying another.

I agree. From a young age, children pick up on all of your emotions. Your faces, your tones, etc. They know when something isn't right between mom and dad, or if one of them is acting weird. As said above, children are much more perceptive than we give them credit for.
