I would definintely vote for Edwards. Richardson is OK, except that as VP he will be relegated to beeing the president of the senate and will have little sway in the international arena, which is where his forte currently lies. It would be interesting to see if anyone does the "unthinkable" and ask for a running mate from across the aisle. I think Edwards and McCain would be a good ticket. But that's just me.

No way, I would never vote for them... I'm a strong Republican but that doesn't mean I like everything President Bush says or does. I'm a huge fan of Newt Gingrich and would love to see him run, but I can understand if he doesn't. I just don't believe in what John Edwards and Bill Richardson believe in, I support the war although things need to be going differently over there and the President isn't handling anymore the way it should be. I believe that abortion is a serious crime against humanity and needs to be abolished to "most" extents and homosexual marriage is just wrong, it was Adam and Steve but Adam and Eve buddy. I believe Newt would make the best possible commander in chief presently, but the race for 2008 hasn't really even started to heat up yet. So till that time comes I cannot back anyone 100%.

This isn't a response to your question, but to another answer. The idea of McCain crossing over and seeking the VP nomination on a Dem ticket has been tossed about for 8 years or more. The Republicans basically tolerate him because of his huge following and, oh as if this matters, he is RIGHT on a lot of the issues. Then again, with Karl Rove on the campaign, a war hero/prisoner of war becomes a battle fatigued lunatic. I would love to see a candidate truly pick the best of the best from both political parties as his or her cabinet. I think many others would also, as you suggest. At this point in time, it is about our country first. Can't we put petty politics aside? They agree on 99% of the issues anyway. Its just a matter of in which district are we going to spend the money.

it is the "new age" democratic way. pelosi, dean, kerry, edwards and obuma all placed the celebration ahead of the country to lend left wing nuttiness to be compelled upon this united states of america. a sensible democrat is way far far more suitable than a left wing nut pastime that those clowns will ever placed out and the substantial reason i will under no circumstances call myself a dem back. mr independant voter right here any further and if want be an finished McCain supporter in this election.

I think if you reverse the names the ticket would have a better shot.
I vote Reppublican these days but anything could happen between now and 2008.
