I grew up watching Narnia on tv every christmas, and Narnia was among the first books I read when i learned how to read.
I just read Narnia again before seeing the new movie, and it`s still a great collection of stories.
I love reading and will read almost all kinds of books, Dan Brown, Tom Clancy, Harry Potter,Anna Karenina++++ Just depends what I`m in the mood for reading.

I most enjoyed reading The Lord of the Rings by Tolkien. I read it for the first time when I was a teenager. I'd always liked to read, but most of my books were kids books, so I got out of the habit by the time I entered my teens. Lord of the Rings was a phenomenal read, and it made me look into the fantasy genre, looking for more books like it. Sad to say, I never did find anything like it...but, I found some other wonderful reads! I still read in the fantasy genre, today....as well as nearly every other genre....only thing I refuse to read is romance...LOL

Harry Potter. I enjoy it still and read alot of fantasy and write alot of fantasy because of it. When I first read the book eight years ago, it drew me in like no other book had ever done and really got me enthusiastic about reading. I liked to read before I read Harry Potter, but it turned into a passion after. It made me go out and read other things that I normally would have never even thought about reading back then like LOTR(I think that's the book everyone reads after Harry Potter if they hadn't read it already), that book seemed so daunting but I ended up really enjoying it. I read anything that has writing on it now and can't wait to read the books to my daughter when she gets old enough.

Well I tend to read non-fiction. All make me think and re-think how I treat others. I'm also a huge history buff. My favorites are:
The Greatest Generation by Tom Brokaw
Tuesdays with Morrie & One More Day - Mitch Albom
Nicholas & Alexander - ?
The Evil Men Dol (not what you think it isn't a man bashing book) by Roy Hazlewood

when I am in the mood for fiction:
DaVinci Code
Scott Thurow books

I'm a sucker for a good romance and I always have been. I know "serious" readers (I'm a Margaret Atwood fan, so I'm serious, too, sometimes) and writers are quick to dismiss them as silly fluff (which some are, yes), but they aren't easy to do well. I'm working on writing one, so I know! I've learned from the good ones I've read and the bad. And, besides...why is it that only books that make you depressed are labeled as "good" books? There's nothing wrong with happy endings. I just have to like the characters and I have to believe in their happy ending.

My mom read to me as a kid and my grandma always bought me new books to read as I got older. I started with Nancy Drew, and still have the whole collection.

These days I still read mystery, my favorite author is Stephen King. Although I enjoy all kinds of stories, The Life of Pi, Goodnight Nobody,The Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood and Angels & Demons just to name a few.

I am currently reading "Lisey's Story", by (you guessed it) Stephen King.
