You should make sure you have a pretty solid case as well as the financial resources to bring this to an end. The legal maneuvering will be endless and cost you tons of money and then even if you win, you'll probably spend obscene amounts of money when he appeals the verdict all the way through the court of appeals. This is if you can even get another lawyer to take it, lawyers do not really like to sue other attorneys.

Anyone can be sued. The problem is finding another lawyer who will go against a fellow lawyer. Its like finding a doctor that will testify against another doctor in a malpractice case. Hard to do because it may be them one day. Lawyers are smart in that they know the rules of engagement so it will be difficult to prove anything. Do your homework and have plenty of proof. The judge is also a lawyer so you won't get any help from him/her either. You will need a good solid case to win. If lawyers could be easily sued, the courts would be tied up for years.

Depending on the action by the lawyer, you may have a better chance filing a complaint with the board and maybe having the lawyer disbarred.

What did he/she do to you? If you feel you were misrepresented or that the lawyer did not do all in his/her power to help you then you should report them to the Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission in your state. Need more details to see what you're acutally asking. And not to worry, lawyers aren't doctors. Most doctors won't testify, etc against their own. You should have no trouble finding a lawyer who'll sue another.

You can pretty much sue anybody these days. Just be sure to get a good lawyer yourself and have LOTS of proof. A good lawyer will know your moves and counter them, so always be one step ahead.
