The average GPA is 3.24 and the median SAT score is about 1700 or better (out of 2400) (with 75% getting at least 1550).
It is selective -- but a slightly better than average student schould get in.
If you are interested in what the school is like, there are two books by Pat Conroy that you should read. The first is a work of fiction called THE LORDS OF DISCIPLINE and the second is a nonfiction book called THE BOO.

Try reading up on admissions for the Citadel:

The citadel is a military academy so you would be treated like you are in the military, this means uniforms, pt, and a close haircut.
I would advise taking a tour of the campus if you can do so.
