They are exactly the Same(same content and text, no scarier monsters or anything) some people dont have a clue about what they are on about. the adultsa cover is different os adults wont feel embaresssed reading a book and they will attract adults eyes. with a children cover and childrens books have bright annimated pictures to grab childrens attention.

That was an eye opener. Didn't know there were two editions. I suspect they are right in saying the adult edition just has a more subdued cover.

due to adults loving harry as much as children (which the books where first written for) they brought out two books with different covers one for kids and the other more adult looking so adults could read it and it didnt look like a childrens book they were reading.
When Harry Potter comes out I buy the both but thats only because my husband and I read them and would be fighting over who gets to read one book first the two books are totally the same in the text inside.

The adult edition has a more bland, dull cover to it (with most of it in black), while the kids books have illustrations of characters on the front in bright colours.

I heard somewhere that the adult version has a bit stronger language- but I think it's a myth.

So to sum up- the only difference is the cover.

It's not really an adult edition. They have printed some copies that belong in "Young Adult" thought but there is no difference.

The questions about this are the first I ever heard that there was an adult edition. There can't be much difference.

The covers of the books are changed that way the book is more liked by either generation according by it's cover. Just because you aren't suppose to judge a book by it's cover doesn't mean that people don't still judge them though. It has to appeal to a person for them to buy it.

No difference at all.
The childrens 1's just have different pictures on the covers. The text inside is identical
