i'm on break right now and i have a problem.
today at work some new lady started talking to me. we were having a nice conversation and then this guy (andy) comes up and pulls nancy to the side, whispers very loudly that i am gay and that i wont wnat anything to do with her. nancy then gasps and looks at me horrified. now she is claiming that im not gay cause i hit on her. i didnt. now everyone is questioning the 'facts' that they got from evry1 else about me. why are people so cruel? why cant they mind theyre own business, and why am i gay?

Address the matter with her first. She obviously mistook your chattiness with flirting.
When all is said and done though, why give a hoot what others think. you know what you are and who you want (have you forgiven him yet?).
Like following the office party, what's new juicy gossip for one day will be superceded by something else.

I think you know why you are gay but are frustrated with the fact you have to put up with this kind of crap at work. I work in human resources and at our plants this would be considered a form of sexual harassment and could even be considered a hostile work environment. Nearly any HR person or restuarant manager should know what those terms are and if reported need to respond to those kind of issues or face a lot of legal music....Your handbook may also have a company policy that gives a reporting procedure and harassment guidelines. Why is this other guy giving you a rough time? Sounds like he may want to hit on the girl himself and is using this as a tool to discredit you.. Good luck - too bad it has to come up at work at all

I can't believe that she had that reaction to the fact that you are gay. I have several gay friends and to tell you the truth, with one I didn't even think one way or the other about his sexual orientation before we became good and dear friends. We have had wonderful conversations about all sorts of stuff and here is how be became such good friends: we each had major problems in our lives and we told each other about them and then we would call one another up and vent about something or other that made us really angry. I don't give a rat's backside whether he's gay or not, that is not all of who he is just like you're being gay is not all of who you are.

You are gay because to you a man is more sexual appealing then a woman.
People are cruel because you should never underestimate peoples desire to judge others and find ways to be superior to other people. The chance to make one self feel above others. IE talking about them, thinking less about them because they are not like the person in question. These are power full forces and should not be ignored.

It sounds like Andy is creating a hostile work environment and exhibiting discriminatory behavior. Talk to your supervisor/manager or call your HR dept. to report the incident. Discrimination of any kind should NOT be tolerated.

Your place of employment is simply NOT the place for your sexuality to even be of issue.
If she's so delusional to think you hit on her, then she's just a big ol' fag-hag anyway and you have a new fan!! Just take advantage of it and she'll never be the wiser.
