I saw an internet ad banner advertising empanadas at McDonalds, yet when I go to their website they are not listed as a menu item. Has anyone seen them at their local McDonalds yet?

I do not know that for sure...but McDonald's used to deep fry their pies (just like an empanada). When I was in Hawai'i, I couldn't believe my eyes when I seen the fried pies there! I was even lucky enough to try 'taro' pie....what a treat. It was super yummy- but only in Hawai'i.

they are probably a on a "regional trial". they do this sometimes in certain areas to test the market for certain products before dciding to introduce the product to othe stores on a larger scale. for instance: bk's in the south have pecan pie (a southern fave), but they arent offered in the north.
