I do have to agree with ellietricitycat there, Evanescence really does have a very unique sound unto themselves. But if you´re looking for a couple of bands that sound somewhat similar or that are in the same music genre, try checking out:
Breaking Benjamin
Seether
Linkin Park
Trapt
Puddle Of Mudd
Chevelle
They´re all guy bands though, so the vocals are also from guys, but the music type is pretty similar, so i hope this helps. :)

Yeah Evanescence are really a unique band and i think they are 100% different from others. And their music is also really good. I dont think their are any others like them but if you really wanna look for rock bands, u can find them on yahoo or google. but still i really like evanescence...

the local college station here recently compared them to fly leaf and lacuna coil. otherwise go to myspace, leave a comment on evanescences comment thingie and like a hundred bands will get in contact with you hoping to be youre friend....sometimes the bands sound like the one you like.

Lacuna Coil. Nightwish. Also the ex bandmember Ben Moody wrote "Nobody's home" by Avril Lavigne which has a very evanescense feel to it.

Sorry matey but Evanescence are quite unique in the way they make their music...which is why I like them, you'd be hard pushed to find a similar band that hasn't gone 'emo'
