the little pickle forks. How can I convince them that it sets a bad example for the other silverware?

you need to sit down with them and give them a stern talk...tell them that they're setting a bad example for everyone else..and that the dishwasher isn't a hotel room..

Spoons are gonna spoon--it's their nature. Just be sure that they're using a barrier--a thick layer of peanut butter usually does the trick. Be sure the pickle forks have their own bin to wash in.

Since turning the water on them doesn't help, tell them unless they play it straight like the knives, they'll have to be separated.
