I have recently split with my partner of 5 year whom I own a house with.
The problem is he won't accept the relationship is over so has stated that he will not sell.
The relationship ended over 2 months ago and it is becoming increasingly difficult and upsetting for both myself and my partner to live under the same roof.
I have a new place to go to in a couple of months and need my house sorted, whether its sold or I am bought out of it as I can't afford to still contribute towards my house and the new place.
Where do I stand? What are my rights? Am I entitled to anything?
We have owned the house for 2 years.
Can anyone offer advice on what steps i should take?

See a lawyer, if both names are on the house, you each own half. If he doesn't want to sell it, then he needs to buy you out! That simple!

There are a number of choices here. You can go to court and have a judge decide. Or you can leave and he can pay you back any money that you have put into the house. Or you can sell it and split the profits.

The logical thing to do is sell. But since he won't, I would consult a lawyer. Hope things work out for you.
