I think we used sanctions on Cuba, South Aftrica, North Korea, Iraq, etc... These seem to be the worst countries, even after years of sanctions. Is there an example where sanctions have worked and turned around a country?

They didn't work in Cuba, because no other country in the world has a problem with them. Same with South Africa.

In Iraq, the sanctions killed over 1 million people, including 250,000 children under 5. Republicans think that was a great success.
