An american that recently went to canada said "every kid up there dresses like blink 182"

Do you think american teens dress more preppy and canadians more skater/punk?

is this something to do with the liberal/conservative issue?

No it has everything to do with geography. Just like in the US, the 'in' style changes as you go from coast to coast, it changes in Canada to. So your friend who came to Canada probably only went to one geographic area in Canada, and probably didn't see what everyone else was wearing. There is no political, no clique, no cliche......just kids in geographical regions hit fads and styles at different times.

Listen pal, Blink 182 is not punk, nor are they "skaters".
