At four months old I took her to get her ears pierced becuase she (like her sister before her) has no hair and looks like a boy! They pierced one ear and then pierced the other. They get it done on the first ear before the baby can even cry about it, and they're in to much surprise to move too much when they do the second piercing. Some snuggles and hugs, two minutes late she wasn't crying anymore. She doesn't yank at them-they don't bug her at all, even three months later.

Yes my daughters ear's are pierced. I had them done when she was 6 months old. I got them done at Wal-Mart and the ladies did both sides at once. I wasn't really bad at all my daughter cried a little bit but I think she was more scared then anything because it really did only take her one second to stop crying. Now my daughter is 5 and she loves having her ear's pierced most of her friends have there's done to.

I work for a pediatrician and I pierce ears in our office....it is no different than geting it done at claires. I do one ear at a time and all babies do fine with it...we will not let a baby get it done with out having the first set of vaccines. I recommend 6 months because when they get older they will play with them more and have more chance for infection. I would say 98% of moms do ok with it...100% of babies do ok with it.

Yes, I got them done when she was 2 months old she cried for all of 5 seconds.. and has done fine with them since..
Found after doing it people have very strong opinions have been told what a horrible thing to do to her.. and go on and on.. my simple response to them is then dont pierce your babies ears then.. SInce she is my child I get to make the decisions..

My daughter's ears aren't pierced, but my cousin has 4 girls and all of them have pierced ears (age 10 down to 1 yr.) She said it's easier to have it done as a baby, cuz then they get used to you cleaning them and stuff. With four kids, I don't think all of them were done the same, but she did mention that at least one of them had both ears done at the same time.

My baby's ears are not pierced. I never got around to doing it while she was small and not she would play with them and probably pull them out (she is 18 months), so I have to wait a while longer.

Well I got my daughter's ear pierced when she was 10 days old. A neighbor did the piercing with a needle, ice and some Vick's. She was asleep when she got her ears pierced!! She didn't wake up at all. I was kind of scared. Just imagining the pain my baby would feel just teared my heart apart. She looked a little weird at the beginning, since I was used to seeing her without earrings. But you get used to it.

I was going to have my daughters pierced after she was born, but she had complications and was in the NICU for 3 days after i went home so i didnt have the heart to do it then. So for her 3rd b-day she asked if she could get earrings so we had thm done at the doctors safest place to have it done if you ask me =) But recently weve had problems so we took them out and she doesnt want them back in. So when she asks then wel do it again. I find it better to wait till you child asks to have them. Just my opinion. but if you do have them done, i would recommend asking her doc if they do ear piercing ( most do) and have them done there.

my daughter is 6 and she REFUSES to get her ears pierced. and I pierce ears at my job. we do it as young as 2 months and only at the same time if the parents request it or we think the kid is gonna freak out after the 1st one. Its really not that hard to do it one at a time though
