question:
Divorce decree states Ex is to pay 50% of medical bills after Ins. pays. Dr. sent him a bill. He now is threatening me with legal action for giving Dr. his name as responsible party for his portion. Dr. office agreed with him. How do I advise him of his portion and make him accountable to pay it? In the past, any Dr. bills I paid 100% and have tried to collect from him go un-answered and un-paid.

My decree says that, but non-emergency medical must be agreed upon BEFORE you take the child.

So I would check the wording. It's possible that he is right, and if you didn't keep him in the loop prior, then he is off the hook.

I don't know what your decree states. Mine is clear that non-emergency must be agreed upon PRIOR to seeking medical attention.

get a new doctor that does agree with you, shop around... they should bill the ex and you have to show proof that the divorce decree says that, they have to be actual court documents, go to the courthouse and pose the problem to them and ask what they cand o to help... in the mean time find a new doctor

Lawyer up and get a new doctor. Once your ex gets served with papers, he either goes to court or jail.
