Is it true that when u are pregnant and u have a child they know if what u are carrying is a boy or girl? For example I am pregnant dont know the sex yet,but my 6 yr old girl thinks im having a girl and my son who is 1 1/2 cannot stop from climbing on me and everytime he does he lifts my shirt and lays his head on my belly,he kisses, hugs and sleeps on the belly all the time..does this mean i could be carrying a girl, since boys dont like boys? I heard this before and was wondering if its true..(he does this with my sister who is carrying a girl but he just always kisses her belly) any suggestions?

I dont know if its totally full proof, but in my expierence my nephew, when me and my cousin were pregnant at the same time, knew that i was having a boy and she was having a girl when we were only about 3 months along. My daughter also said it was a boy. Which it was. So i think kids can sense things, but i wouldnt put a million dollars on it =)

There are too many myths out there and that is just what they are. You could check out the "Chinese Birth Chart" look at the age you were at the time of conception and the month when you conceived and supposedly it will tell you what the sex of the baby will be. Simply type it in - this at times seems to be true, but I think that it is just coincidence. I was told that if the baby's heart beat is over 140 beats per minute is a girl and under; it is a boy., well my baby's heart beat was always over 140 and it was not a girl but a boy. Therefore, you cannot go by myths, at times they might be accurate but I think that is all coincidence. Good Luck.

We thought my neighbor's little girl was going to predict the sex of our baby. For 3 weeks, she kept saying how her mommy was going to have another baby in July. Mommy takes a pregnancy test, turns out the kid was right (even about the due date). Then she started saying that it was two babies, a boy and a girl. So I asked her what I was having, and she said it was a boy. Well, she was wrong, at least according to the ultrasound. We wonder now if maybe she got confused about the two babies - maybe her mom is having the boy and I'm having the girl? Either way, it's pretty weird that she predicted her mom's pregnancy.

I think it's possible for the kids to have some sort of 6th sense about it, but I wouldn't bank on it. I wouldn't go out buying pink because your son hugs your belly. It is kind of fun to see what they think though.

Never heard that before, but your chances of guessing remain the same: 50/50 - no matter which tale you choose to use.

The only way to know for sure is amniocentesis or ultrasound - and even on an ultrasound the baby has to be in the right position to be able to get a clear view.

Its a myth but hey your kids have a 50/50 chance of being right. Some kids are just more afectionate to pregnancy and babies than others. Enjoy an save the surprise it will be worth it, like a really early christmas present.

How cute! Well I have never heard of that but it is very cute. My son is only trying to listen to the baby in the belly and tell me it is talking to him.
I would say it is a myth.
People have had dreams on what they are going to have and sometimes it even comes true.
Good Luck!!!

That sounds pretty cool. I don't know an honest answer but I remember when I little, I knew my mom was having a girl. I ended up with a little brother. I actually had a temper tantrum because "she" was dressed in blue, not pink. :) I hope you have a happy healthy baby. Congrats!

those are just myths. there is no way your 1 1/2 year old knows the sex of your baby.

i think its a myth that they can tell what sex it is. i do however think they know that you are pregnant. i think pregnat woman must give out pheromones/homones that attract children.

when i found out i was pregnant, and way before we told my 4 year old god daughter she suddenly became very clingy to me and wanted to be close to me. i read somwhere that they can smell milk that early on.

i reckon they have a 6th sense......like cats.
i have no idea how true it is.
