A cell needs large amounts of a certain molecule, but the concetration of this molecule outside the cell is lower than it is inside the cell. How will the cell be able to obtain enough of this substance to carry out its essential functions?

Have you talked about "active transport"? It's how cells use energy (usually from ATP) to concentrate substances inside the cell.
