Backyardigans are pretty sweet! the dances are all choreagraphed or however you spell it. I saw this mother post a note on the show and she researched it and found that it is choreaographed. i guess it must take some time, but the people who do it, probably love it!

The Backyardigans was originally conceived to be a full-body puppet series, akin to Yo! Gabba! Gabba!, titled "Me and My Friends" in 1998. Only one episode has been produced.

In 2001, the series was worked into a concept more similar to the series today. The 2001 pilot utilized the motion-capture animation.

In 2004, when The Backyardigans became an official series, the idea of the motion capture animation was ditched, and the animation utilizes traditional 3D computer-generated graphics. The production uses real dancers and a choreographer to choreograph the dance moves, and send them to the animators, who use the dancers' performances as a model for the animation moves.

The answer: No.
